Renew your car license at the Post Office

Renew your car licence at the Post Office

Gauteng motorists can now renew their motor vehicle licenses at selected Post Offices in the province.  This partnership between the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport and the Post Office is an effort to take the services to the people while improving service delivery to communities.

Motorists must produce a printed renewal notice and an ID book  to renew a motor vehicle license.  If they do not have a renewal notice, motorists can complete the relevant documentation for the license to be processed.

This initiative is in phase one; phase two will culminate into the expansion of other National Road Traffic Act services.

Among others, the Government in partnership with the Post Office is rendering payment services for social grants, water and electricity bills for more than 100 municipalities.

Ndala Mnisi, head of Consumer Services at the Post Office, said at the pre-launch ceremony that the Post Office constantly develops new services to meet the connectivity needs of the nation.  “The Post Office partners with government to provide services such as this,” said Mnisi.

“We are delighted to partner with the Post Office to facilitate the payment and issuing of motor vehicle licenses,” said Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport, Mr Bheki Nkosi.  He added “with longer operating hours, opening on Saturday and some of them on Sundays, located within the communities and shopping malls, the Post Office becomes a strategic partner to the Department in ensuring accessibility of services. Motorists can now conveniently pay their motor vehicle licenses and municipal bills at the Post Office at the same time.”  Motorists who renew licenses at a post office immediately receive a valid license disk and receipt.

advice needed

These are the parts I particularly liked:

·         You need to tell the client they are pulling the ring out of your good work and bleeding you dry

·         “fuck assumption”

·         no need to suck anything up

·         Sounds like they went on a Dale Carnegie course, ask them to define a few things, includes, assumed, and standard practice.

·         you are dealing with some issues the client has, it has nothing to do with you

Google Important Change

Hi, Lantz

I've just received this news via Perry Marshall's newletter

QUOTE...

Google Slap for Product Review Sites
News Flash from Dr. Glenn Livingston of Rocket Clicks:

I got word from several affiliate marketers that Google dropped the
hammer today on affiliate review pages.   Many pages went from
quality scores of 10 --> 1 overnight.

And these were NOT skinny sites, rather well build out,
consistently updated blogs with good navigation above the fold, xml
site maps, high click through, hyper-relevant keyword mapping, low
bounce rates, long average time on page  ... everything else Google
loves.

When we analyzed which pages survived, and we take it in
combination with other information, it seems pretty clear they've
added code which screens for affiliate links on the landing pages.

At the moment it seems cloaking and PHP redirects are untouched, ...
but I can't imagine these are far behind.  (I'm guessing they're
just avoiding this in order to decrease their server burden ... takes
some CPU cycles to visit every link on the page and evaluate for
affiliate code)

I'd say it's safe to conclude Google's on the war path against
affiliate review sites, and we should be advising clients towards a
different business model... at minimum it seems necessary to avoid
placing affiliate links on landing pages, but ideally, I think
people need to move towards a deeper list building/relationship
building strategy and/or a strong e-commerce model.

Time to stop "building on sand".

Boat Launching Procedures

            Boat Launching Procedures

So here it is.

I just bought a new boat and decided to take 'er for the maiden voyage this past weekend.

This is my first boat and I wasn't quite sure of the exact Standard Operating Procedures for launching it off a ramp, but I figured it couldn't be too hard.

I consulted my local boat dealer for advice, but they just said "don't let the trailer get too deep when you are trying to launch the boat".

What am I doing wrong?
Well, I don't know what they meant by that as I could barely get the trailer in the water at all!

Anyhow, here's a picture below. See for yourself. What am I doing wrong?
